NEXPERT OBJECT
COURSE DESCRIPTION
This 5-day course offers students complete, in-depth instruction in the
NEXPERT OBJECT/ SMART ELEMENTS development system. Students learn how to build
knowledge bases with both rules and objects, and how to use and control the
inference engine's reasoning applying several different strategies.
Concepts covered include: rule construction; inference engine processing;
object-oriented design and programming; notebooks and networks; agenda monitor;
static and dynamic objects; interpretations; pattern matching; list processing;
property and value inheritance; metaslots, methods and demons; message passing;
database interfaces; graphics; and debugging tools. An introduction is given on
the GUI design tool Open Editor and the Open Script language. The emphasis of this
comprehensive, hands-on training is on the pragmatic, with a number of exercises
worked throughout the class. Students who complete this class will be able to use
the full power of SMART ELEMENTS in developing their applications.
