NEURON DATA STRENGTHENS MANAGEMENT TEAM TO SUPPORT GROWTH IN HIGH-END
DEVELOPMENT TOOLS MARKET
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE | ND-30
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., October 2, 1995 -- Neuron Data, Inc., a leading worldwide supplier of high-end development software for building distributed business-critical applications, today announced that it has appointed Hoshi Printer as chief financial officer (CFO) and vice president, finance and administration. Additionally, the company has promoted one of its cofounders, Jean-Marie Chauvet, to vice president of technology and Pany Christoforou, its United Kingdom (U.K.) managing director, to the position of general manager, Europe. These appointments support Neuron Data's growth in the high-end development tools market and the recent success of its distributed Elements Environment (announced June 26, 1995).
"With the addition of distributed communications capabilities to the Elements Environment, Neuron Data is poised for leadership in the high-end application development tools market," said Patrick Perez, Neuron Data's chairman and CEO. "By adding Hoshi to the Neuron Data team and promoting Jean-Marie and Pany we expect to see company growth in three main areas: improved operational productivity, increased innovation in object technology and expanded worldwide presence."
Hoshi Printer -- CFO
Over the next 18-24 months, Printer will be focused on
increasing the company's financial strength and valuation by improving
the productivity of its business operations. With more than 25 years
experience managing strategic business and financial operations for
both large and small corporations, Printer is best known for his
successful cost savings programs and growth strategies. At Xerox, he
managed the business and financial planning for the company's fastest
growing and most profitable division, the Printing Systems division.
As a consultant to President Jimmy Carter, Printer saved the U.S.
Treasury department $40 million. At Catalytica, an environmental
technology company, he led a very successful initial public offering
(IPO) in 1993 raising $30 million. Printer earned an MBA from
Stanford University in California.
Jean-Marie Chauvet -- VP of Technology
In his new role, Chauvet will drive the company's technology
focus, along with Perez and Alain Rappaport, president, while helping
to define and articulate Neuron Data's vision through a major new
product announcement during the first half of 1996.
"Jean-Marie will continue to play a vital role as the company strengthens its leadership position in the object-oriented market," said Perez. "Jean-Marie was an initial co-developer of NEXPERT OBJECT, Neuron Data's object-oriented business rules product brought to market in 1986. His ongoing commitment to meeting the changing needs of the marketplace helps Neuron Data deliver products that solve critical business problems for our customers."
Chauvet is a recognized speaker, author and industry expert on object technology and one of the innovators of Neuron Data technology since its founding in 1985. This technology is currently in use by more than 25,000 developers and 1.2 million end users worldwide. Prior to cofounding Neuron Data, he was a visiting scientist at the Robotics Institute, Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, where he was involved in research work in the areas of artificial intelligence and machine learning. Chauvet holds a degree from L'Ecole Polytechnique, Paris.
Pany Christoforou -- General Manager, Europe
Representing approximately half of the company's revenue,
Neuron Data's international operations have been consistently strong.
Christoforou has been a key element of this success as managing
director for Neuron Data's U.K. operations. In his new role as
general manager of Europe, Christoforou will be responsible for
expanding the company's network of European distributors.
Additionally, he will manage programs for increased growth of Neuron
Data's offices in London, Paris and Frankfurt.
Prior to joining Neuron Data, Christoforou was finance and banking branch manager for Ingres Limited. He has held several management and sales positions with various technology companies such as Comshare, Software AG and Sequent Computers.
